Groundhopping
I love sports! Doing it myself, but also watching. Soaking in the athmosphere of the venues.
Of course I took photos of the places I visited over years and I can proudly present my “collection” of venues over differen sports, being it Soccer, Ice-Hockey, Rugby, Football, Baseball or Basketball all over the world. This page is work in Progress as I add new photos from time to time. Started with a bunch of Photos leaning on US Sports. More from Europe to follow.
Watching my first ever Baseball game in the wonderfully named “Guaranteed Rate Field” Stadium in Chicago. Chicago White Sox vs Houston Astros.
A Baseball game in a Football Stadium. Visiting the iconic Colosseum in Oakland, eating the best Garlic fries of my life and watching the A’s get soundly beaten by the Baltimore Orioles.
The biggest Stadium of Baseball. A nailbiter in a sold out Dodger Stadium as the Dodgers clinch the 2-1 victory against the Chicago White Sox in the 9th Inning.
God bless Texas! The chant of the crowd as the Houston Texans beat the Tenessee Titans in the NRG Stadium. Outside over 30C, in the stadium a frosty 18C
We visited the Derby between Benfica Lisbon and Porto in 2018
Watching Portland Timber in a sweltering heatwave. A nice old-school stadium in Downtown Portland with a great athmosphere.
I enjoyed a great game in the Lucas Oil Stadium in Downtown Indiannapolis. It was a gripping game against the Los Angeles Rams, the roar of the fans deafening.
Ravens vs Seahawks on a sunny October Sunday. Sellout crowd, abysmal food and a lopsided game.
Out of an architectural view probably the biggest Stadium I have ever been in. The Mets vs the Chargers in a cold November night in Eadt Rutherford.
We visited the Volksparkstadion out in the Suburbs of Hamburg. What an Athmosphere! And Heidenheim got beaten 2-1 adding to the happyness in the crowds.
